Activities and Events for the week beginning 13th May 2012.

The Devotional Societies meet on Monday evening. After Mass at 7.15 pm and refreshments, the speaker will be Fr Neil Bowler from Whiston. He will speak about his time in the Community at Mirfield.

Tuesday Church for Children meets this week from 6 to 7 pm. All children of primary school age are welcome.

There will be a coffee morning in church on Wednesday after the 9.30 am Mass. We are all invited.

The monthly meeting of the Mothers’ Union will be held in church on Wednesday at 7 pm. The speaker will be Barbara Poisson from Pennine Lavender, and we expect a very interesting evening. All are welcome, whether members of MU or not.

Ascension Day falls on Thursday. It is a holy day of obligation.

Next Sunday Mass will be celebrated at the usual times 8 am, 10 am and 6.30 pm. Tickets are on sale for the Parish Lunch which will be held in church at 1 pm. Tickets cost £8 each.  

Forward in Faith Sheffield are arranging a Teaching Day on Healing on Saturday 26th May at Goldthorpe, led by Fr Paul Nener. It begins with mass at 10 am, and you are asked to take a packed lunch.

DIAMOND JUBILEE WEEKEND – There will be a special service on Sunday 3rd June (in place of the evening mass) at 6.30pm, and a Jubilee Dinner on the evening of Tuesday 5th June in church.

Kath Hague would like to thank all who helped in any way with the Easter chicks and rabbits in aid of the Aurora Centre at DRI. This raised £1,108. If anyone has any unwanted wool of any colour please see Kath.
