Usernames and passwords, how many do you have and how many times do you use the same password?

We all know we should use different passwords, but can anyone really remember which password goes with which site, much less what the actual password is?

So what do we all do? One of two things. We use different passwords and write them down, or we use the same password for everything! Either way there is the very real risk of someone having access to all your secure web pages.

So what would that mean to you, the average user? Well, most people now use on-line banking and shop on line so that would be all your money being at risk.

Many people manage things like their gas, electricity and phones on-line. This would enable anyone with your password to download and print the bills for these services. Once they have a bill, that gives the person the ability to open a bank account and take out credit (in your name). More money at risk.

An ever increasing number of people have at least some of their private lives on-line. Facebook, Twitter, MySpace are all rich sources of personal information all accessible with the correct password. There goes your good name!

KeePass immediately stops all these problems. Enter your username and password once and they are stored in a securely encrypted file on your computer. This file is then only accessible if you put in the correct password.

So, with KeePass you only have to remember one password and KeePass can even automatically generate it, so it can't be guessed.

Why not take the Microsoft password strength test HERE.

As an added bonus using KeePass makes the process of signing in so much simpler. No longer do you type your password in only to get ●●●●● or ****** which is quickly followed by an message about the details being wrong!
