Activities and Events for the week beginning 17th August 2008.
Father Keith is at St Hugh’s, New Cantley this morning.
The Mass on Monday evening is the monthly requiem at
which we remember those whose anniversaries fall in August.
There will be a coffee morning in church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. We are all invited.
Father Richard Gomersall and the people of St Bernard’s, Southey Green, Sheffield invite us to their patronal festival mass on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. The preacher will be Fr Nigel Holmes, and the mass will be followed by refreshments.
Next Sunday Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. and 10a.m. but not in the evening. In the afternoon we are holding our Car Treasure Hunt. There is a list in the porch for those taking part. Afterwards there will be a faith supper in church.
On Friday 5th September Jeff and Jane Nadin invite us to a Barbecue at 25 Ellers Road from 6.30 p.m. (The evening Mass that day will be at 6.pm.)
There will be a Mothers’ Union social afternoon in Church on Monday 8th September at 2 p.m. Yvonne Johnson will give a talk about the Indoor Members Prayer Circle (IMPC). All are welcome.
A Tea Party to raise money for Christian Aid will be held in church on the afternoon of Saturday 20th September.
Forward in Faith Sheffield are arranging a Day Pilgrimage to Walsingham on Saturday 27th September. We shall be booking a coach and will soon be asking who would like to go.
The Bishop of Beverley is holding his Northern Provincial Festival in York Minster on Saturday 1st November at 12 noon. We shall again be arranging a coach. Please book this date now. |
