Activities and Events for the week beginning 7th March 2010.

The Devotional Societies meet on Monday evening, beginning with Mass at 7.15 p.m. Father Keith is our speaker this month.

Tuesday Church for Children takes place this week from 6 to 7 p.m. Children of primary school age are most welcome.

Singers are invited to the Vicarage on Tuesday at 8 p.m. to prepare music for Holy Week.

There will be a coffee morning in church on Wednesday after the 9.30 a.m. mass. We are all invited.

We are holding our Spring Fair will be held in church on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please bring your gifts for the tombola, raffle and various stalls. Be sure to come yourself, and please invite your friends and neighbours.

Next Sunday is Mothering Sunday. Mass will be celebrated at the usual times 8.00 a.m., 10.00 a.m. and 6.30 p.m.

The Flower Club will again be arranging lilies in church at Easter. The list is open for anyone who would like to donate a lily (£3) in memory of a loved one.

Our Parish Pilgrimage to Walsingham has been booked for Monday 16th August to Friday 20th. Please consider joining us this year. The cost half board is £171. Children are welcome, and the cost for them is £102.60. Fr John will need to know by the end of April if you would like to go on the pilgrimage, and there is a £20 deposit payable by then (deducted from the total cost).

Revision of Electoral Roll – Please check your entry on the Electoral Roll on the table at the back of church.   Please make any necessary changes and initial your entry as a correct record.   If anyone would like to join the Electoral Roll, please complete one of the forms and hand it to Beryl Neyt.

Easter cards are now ready for distribution round the parish. Please collect and deliver a bundle or two.

CDs of the Whitwell Brass Band have now arrived. If you ordered one, please see Muriel.

The Nightingale Singers conducted by Ken Greaves are paying us another visit for a concert on Saturday 10th April in church at 6.30 p.m. Tickets will soon be on sale, price £6. Please book the date and tell others who will be interested.
